Sheet metal ERP software for fabrication and job shops

eManage Sheet Metal ERP is manufacturing and accounts software for fabrication and press shops. It controls sheet and coil stock with nesting and remnants, job routing through cutting, bending, welding and powder coating, scrap per sheet, and job costing against the quote with GST and ITC-04. It is implemented on site by the eManage team from Ludhiana, Punjab.

WHY PLANTS SWITCH

Sound familiar? eManage fixes all four

A sheet metal shop wins on material utilisation and loses on untracked scrap, jobs stuck between the press brake and the welding bay, and powder coating sent outside with nobody counting the return. This edition tracks the sheet, the job and the coater.

Sheet utilisation unknown

Nests are cut, but remnants and scrap per sheet are never recorded.

Jobs without routings

Cutting, bending, welding and coating are tracked on whiteboards.

Coating job work untracked

Parts sent for powder coating come back in mixed lots.

Quotes vs actual cost

Jobs are quoted per kilo or per piece, and actual cost is never compared.

Here is how Sheet Metal ERP handles each of these.

WHAT IT HANDLES

eManage covers every control point of a sheet metal unit

8 controls that come built into Sheet Metal ERP, each tied to the same lot, order and ledger.

WHAT CHANGES

What changes on the floor with eManage

The people and machines stay the same. Each movement is recorded where it happens, so the owner reads a screen instead of waiting for the month-end register.

ON THE FLOOR

How eManage Sheet Metal ERP works, stage by stage

Material & nesting

Sheet issued to the nest, remnant back to stock

  1. 1

Parts are nested on sheets of the right material and thickness. The nest records sheets used, utilisation and expected skeleton weight.

  2. 2

Sheets are issued to the laser against the nest. Usable remnants return to stock with their size, and skeleton scrap is weighed.

  3. 3

Material consumed per job is compared with the quote. A thin margin is caught on the first batch, not at invoicing.

Utilisation and scrap per sheet

Fabrication floor

Cut, bend, weld and coat on one job card

  1. 1

Cut parts move on a job card through every operation. Punching, bending and welding each record quantity passed, rejected and the operator.

  2. 2

Welding records welder, process and consumables. Rework is logged against the job, so it is costed rather than hidden.

  3. 3

Powder coating goes out on a job-work challan by job and colour. In-house coating runs as an operation; the receipt closes the stage.

Operation-wise WIP with rework costed

Assembly & dispatch

Hardware fitted, job costed, invoice from the dispatch

  1. 1

Assembly consumes coated parts and hardware from the BOM. Final inspection passes the job or sends it back for rework.

  2. 2

The job cost sheet closes at dispatch. Actual sheet consumed, machine hours, coating and scrap credit are set against the quoted price.

  3. 3

Dispatch creates the e-invoice and e-way bill. Customer-owned material on job work is billed as conversion charges with ITC-04 maintained.

FAQ

eManage Sheet Metal ERP questions

Something specific to your unit? Ask an implementation lead.

Customers send their own sheets for job work. Can we track it?

Yes. Customer-owned sheets are received on their challan and held as their stock by material and thickness. Jobs consume from it, scrap and remnants are reported per customer, and conversion charges are billed per job with ITC-04 maintained from the challans. Your own sheet stock is never mixed with theirs.

Does the system do nesting, or do we use our own software?

You nest in your CAM software. eManage records the nest result, that is sheets used, parts cut, utilisation and skeleton weight, against the job, so material and scrap are accounted without re-entry. If the same sheet carries parts for several jobs, the sheet cost is split across them by area.

Can we import masters from Tally and quotes from Excel?

Yes. Party, item and ledger masters with opening balances are imported from Tally, and part lists, routings and open quotes are loaded from Excel at go-live. Shops that keep Tally for final accounts export sale and purchase vouchers from eManage. The ledger mapping is done on site during implementation.

We are a 25-person job shop with one laser and two press brakes. Is it worth it?

Yes. Job cards, sheet issue and scrap weighing run from one terminal, and the job cost report is usually the first thing owners use every day. Larger shops add a terminal per bay and the eWarehouse app for sheet and remnant stock. Go-live for a shop of this size is typically 4 to 6 weeks on site.

What does Sheet Metal ERP cost?

Pricing depends on the number of users, the modules you switch on and whether you run it on the cloud or your own server. It is quoted as a licence plus a one-time implementation fee after a demo on your own quotes and travel cards. Call +91 98156 23402 or write to info@emanage.in for a quote.

Can we quote a new job from the system?

Yes. A quote is built from the part's routing: sheet area at the current material rate, machine hours per operation, coating cost and hardware, plus the scrap allowance you set. When the job runs, the actual cost sheet sits beside the quote, so the next quote for a similar part starts from real numbers.
